The Spoken verse

A Girl Scout Gold Award project focused on bringing creative writing education to adults and seniors across the globe.

About

Hi there! My name is Anaya Jain, and I'm the one behind The Spoken Verse. I’m an aspiring author from California, and an avid reader with a lifelong passion for literature. Ever since I published my first book in sixth grade, storytelling has been a core part of who I am. I'm especially drawn to poetry and how it allows us to explore ourselves and the world around us in the most abstract of ways.I am the American Library of Poetry Grand Prize winner, the San Diego Short Story Contest First Place winner, the World Encyclopedia + Oxford University Press Short Story Contest 1st Place Winner, and a Topical Winner of the National High School Poetry Competition! As part of my Girl Scout Gold Award Project, I created The Spoken Verse to share the joy of creative writing with adults, seniors, and families. My goal is to inspire others to find their voices through poetry, stories, and self-expression. Whether you're picking up a pen for the first time or rediscovering your love of words, there's a place here for you.
